How to Use a Command Block in Minecraft to Build

This guide is for people who generate pixel art with ImageToPixelApp and want to build it in Minecraft using the Command Block export. It is the fastest way to test builds, but it can be risky if you run it in the wrong place.

Before You Start

  • Java Edition: The exports are designed for Java (the UI includes Java versions like 1.9–1.13).
  • Use a world where commands are allowed (Creative, cheats enabled, or server permission).
  • Build in an empty area or a test world first.
  • Read Commands to Delete before running anything (it clears blocks).

What You Get

  • A multi-page command output (page input + arrows).
  • A Copy button that copies the current page.
  • A Total Commands count for the whole export.

Step-by-Step: Build With the Command Block Export

  1. In ImageToPixelApp, open Export and choose Convert Method → Command Block.
  2. Set Minecraft Version and Spawn Towards.
  3. Review Commands to Delete to understand what area will be cleared.
  4. Click Copy to copy the current page.
  5. In Minecraft, get a command block:
    /give @p command_block
  6. Place the command block near your build area.
  7. Open it and paste the copied command into the command block input.
  8. Trigger the command block once. Wait until the build stops changing before moving on.
  9. Go to the next page in ImageToPixelApp and repeat (Page 1 → Page 2 → …) until finished.
